Safe hotel with nice staff. Breakfast with apple juice, yogurt plus waffles. Location so close to grocery stores and Baxter State Park, about 10 miles away.

The Katahdin Inn & Suites is a relaxing and convenient hotel located in a very quiet area, ideally situated next to the stunning Baxter State Park. It’s also close to restaurants, making it an excellent base for exploring the wonderful park. the location is absolutely perfect, just meters away from the enjoyable Oh Canada eh Dinner show.

Location, cost, comfort. It was wonderful that we could open the window, turn off the ac and since the window opened towards an area of trees so that we could have privacy, no traffic sounds and fresh air instead of canned and loud ac air and sound.
The room door did not have a safety lock from the inside lock. There were badly damaged ceiling tiles in the shower/tub stall. The door key did not work consistently.

The gentleman at the front desk was very pleasant and helpful.
Breakfast starts too late for those who get up early to hike.

From the moment we arrived, the friendly staff made us feel welcome. the hotel is in a great location, close to the mountain. It's also near Baxter State Park, Katahdin Woods and Waters, a local restaurant, and the river.

The staff is doing a good job of renovating an out-dated facility and offer the best price point in the area - an easy 20-minute drive to Baxter State Park.
The place is a little tired - but the new owners are making it better every day.

The hotel and rooms are really clean and tidy . Nice pool and hot tub . Parking right outside door and lifts to floors . Micro wave and fridge make life easier .
Breakfast not up to previous standard . Jelly on table but no toaster or bread ?

Not a lot of choice in this sadly run down town but this was adequate for the one night we needed to go on a moose watching trip in Baxter State Park, about 10 miles away. Our room on the 2nd floor was at the back with an outside window - definitely better than the ones facing the indoor pool area. The staff were friendly and helpful and there was a free breakfast with cereal juice coffee waffles etc. Close to a RiteAid pharmacy if you need any essentials.
It looks like a barrack house from the outside and the parking lot is in need of repair. Inside it is much better than you might expect.
